The Botanical Penthouse brings to life the vision of a treehouse in the city. As a home for a young family with two children, the spaces were reconfigured to provide endless opportunities for play and entertainment, set amidst a lush botanical landscape of towering ferns. The swimming pool was decked over to create this oasis that surrounds the double volume height living space.
Full height sliding doors in varying opacities of timber and metal mesh softly separate the formal public and private play spaces, permeating a sense of intimacy yet allowing filtered views into the main living space and landscape beyond. A neutral palette of timeless materials – sandblasted oak, textured linen wallcoverings, unfilled travertine navona and burnished brass, served as a canvas for the Owner’s collection of iconic Brazilian furniture and artwork.
